Shift work employees experience higher
rates of sickness and disability. This assessment will
determine to what extent shiftwork is impacting on their
condition and provide information to determine if they can
safely return to shift work.
Purpose:
To provide managers, physicians, human
resources and occupational health and safety professionals
with information regarding an employee's ability to adapt to
and withstand the rigors of shift work.
This
information may be required when an employee demonstrates
various symptoms of shift work dysfunction even while still
working, when an employee is returning to work after
long-term sick or disability leave or when a shift worker is
involved in a work accident or major incident of sleepiness
at work.
